The Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT) will recruit 500 people from Wright and Hennepin counties to take part in research to test technology that could someday be used to collect a mileage-based user fee (MBUF) in lieu of a gasoline tax. These funding sources support construction and maintenance of the highway system.

federal government is simplifying the transition to EVs by offering federal tax incentives. These incentives apply to the purchase of new EVs , used EVs, commercial EVs , and also include a business tax credit for the installation of charging stations. Support for aviation biofuels should at a minimum be equal to policies supporting other transport and energy sectors. The stakeholders also urge continuing and expanding key programs under the Farm Bill and other federal. Specific recommendations include continuing the Biorefinery Assistance Program and excise tax incentives.
