Volvo Trucks unveiled a completely new, fully electric rear axle at the IAA Transport show in Hannover, Germany. The new e-axle integrates the electric motors and the transmission into the rear axle, thereby freeing up space for more batteries. We will continue with our versatile battery electric trucks that are already in production.

The American automaker sold 20,233 EVs in Q1 2024, topping rival General Motors with 16,425 electric cars delivered. The fully electric Volvo C40 Recharge and XC40 Recharge models have been updated for the 2024 model year to offer increased range ( earlier post ). Range improvements come thanks to two new powertrains offered on both the C40 Recharge and XC40 Recharge. Charging the car from 10-80% state-of-charge takes approximately 28 minutes.
