The section held a first-of-its-kind workshop in January at the University of Technology in Kingston. The event attracted more than 200 participants. Students from several local schools and universities participated in the event. IEEE Member Juleen Gentles.

The 2022 IEEE Women in Engineering International Leadership Conference is scheduled for 6 and 7 June in a hybrid format, with both in-person and virtual networking events. The in-person events are to take place at the San Diego Convention Center. The deadline is 1 February. They will be back this year as well.

Student representatives also help organize conference workshops. The meetings have always included onsite events for students to network with each other and to mingle with researchers over lunch. The events give the budding engineers an opportunity to talk with leaders they normally wouldn’t meet, Tricomi says.
