Urban Air Initiative and partners petition EPA to correct ethanol emissions models

The Urban Air Initiative (UAI), the Energy Future Coalition and the states of Kansas and Nebraska have petitioned the US Environmental Protection Agency to correct what they call the agency’s flawed models that limit the use of higher blends of ethanol. Lawrence, KS gas station first to offer E15 in the US

E15 now available in North Dakota

E15 blended gasoline is now available in four of North Dakota’s larger cities. North Dakota is the ninth state to offer the fuel blend containing 15% ethanol and 85% gasoline. The others are Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Nebraska, North Carolina, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.

Approval for E15 passes a milestone

EPA has informed the Renewable Fuels Association (RFA) that the RFA Model E15 Misfueling Mitigation Plan would generally be sufficient to satisfy the partial waivers’ requirement for a misfueling mitigation plan. The partial waivers allow fuel and fuel additive manufacturers to introduce gasoline-ethanol blends containing grater than 10% vol.
