AllCell Technologies ( earlier post ) has teamed with two Purdue University engineering students to produce an electric motorcycle with leading performance and drive range. Initial testing indicates a maximum speed of more than 120 mph (193 km/h) and a range of more than 120 miles.

The engineering team has particular strengths in control systems, high-reliability software, and high-power analog electronics. Top speed (limited) is 75 mph (121 km/h).

The converted RAV4 is the result of the partnership between Toyota and Tesla Motors announced in May 2010; Toyota has contracted for 2,600 units. Twenty-two months after the project announcement, Toyota and Tesla engineers revealed the RAV4 EV at Electric Vehicle Symposium 26 in May 2012. We do very well in California.

Wally worked for a while helping Tesla Motors launch their Roadster, and is now back at AC Propulsion working on the newest iteration of the AC-150. After pulling out onto the street, I gave it a punch to see how Tesla-like it was. The soft whine of the motor is reminiscent of the EV1, and quite pleasing to the ear.
