Honda researchers validate PM Index for direct-injection gasoline engines; gasoline quality matters

In a new paper in the International Journal of Engine Research , Koichiro Aikawa of Honda R&D and Jeff Jetter of Honda R&D Americas report that their “PM Index”—reported in a paper in 2010—applies well to direct-injection (DI) gasoline engines as well as to the port-fuel-injection (PFI) engines of their original study.

CARB settles with American Honda Motor for $6.9M for violations of air quality regulations on small off-road engines

The California Air Resources Board (CARB) reached a settlement agreement with American Honda Motor Corporation, Inc. Honda) of Torrance, California for $6.9 This is the second enforcement action against Honda in the past two years. Honda failed these tests demonstrating evaporative emissions of gasoline above the legal limit.
