Mitsubishi is bringing the plug-in hybrid crossover Outlander (the best-selling PHEV in Europe) to the US. The 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) will arrive in dealerships in December 2017 with an MSRP of $34,595. US fuel consumption and electric range figures are still to come.

Enterprise Holdings is acquiring the business of IGO CarSharing , a non-profit organization serving more than 15,000 members, with more than 200 locations in more than 40 neighborhoods. IGO offers a range of vehicles, including the Nissan LEAF and Mitsubishi i-MiEV battery-electric vehicles.

Although charging infrastructure is beginning to find its way into cities, it may be awhile until they are available in residential neighborhoods en masse.
