To measure freight efficiency, DTNA ran vehicle testing on highway routes in Oregon and Texas; one city route in Portland, Ore.; Testing was also conducted at the DTNA Detroit engineering facility to demonstrate engine efficiency by achieving 50.2% Detroit rear axles were upgraded for the Freightliner SuperTruck.

South Coast Air Quality Management District is replacing 11 on-road drayage trucks (model year 1991-1995), nine school buses with compressed natural gas (CNG), and one school bus with a battery-electric vehicle.
