When I told Guizzo I was going to be in Singapore, he told me that RoboCup, an international robot soccer competition, was going on at the same time. But I was really there for the robots.

Kia EV3 and EV4 prep for production following first EV plant upgrade

Kia’s plant, which used to make the Pride and Stonic vehicles, is now designed to produce its next-gen EVs. Kia CEO Song Ho-sung said the plant will use the latest manufacturing tech developed by Hyundai Motor’s new innovation center in Singapore. Two new electric concepts were unveiled at the event, the EV3 and EV4.

Continental launches series production of technologies for robo-taxis

Continental has developed a production-ready radar system specifically designed for driverless vehicles. In autonomous vehicles, the one-box brake system is combined with a Hydraulic Brake Extension that can, in conjunction with ABS, safely brake the vehicle in the highly unlikely event of primary brake failure.
