ROC-1 will work with high power DC charging stations that use a CCS-1 charging connector, offering capability to autonomously charge the vehicles from existing charging supply equipment. Last year we opened our first office in North America in Portland, Ore. The Rocsys robots use computer vision to navigate the plug to the socket.

It’s already been four years since Portland really charged ahead in its commitment to electric cars with Electric Avenue, a project that designated a city block of parking spots plug-in-only, peppered the block with a variety of charger hardware, and let EV owners have at it.

a partner in The EV Project, will install ECOtality’s Blink electric vehicle (EV) DC Fast Chargers (480 volt 3-Phase AC input)—unveiled at the Business of Plugging In 2010 conference—at 45 BP and ARCO locations. Blink DC Fast Chargers will be available to the public at BP and ARCO locations as early as March of 2011.

In the initial phase, the aim is to install nearly 100 DC Fast charging ports across both coasts, with plans to expand the program to increase access to fast charging across the country. These newly installed DC Fast chargers will be added to the growing ChargePoint network of more than 20,000 charging spots in North America.
