The Model Y will travel further, though, claiming 533km between charges, compared to the Toyota’s 411km. While its set up for DC fast charging, it’s limited to 150kW. The Niro GT-Line EV tested here adds front parking sensors, heated and ventilated front seats, sunroof, head-up display, tinted rear windows, heated steering wheel, auto up/down windows, alloy pedals, ambient lighting, wireless phone charging and an eight-speaker Harman Kardon sound system. And… it’s worked.

The next parameters to consider are the circuit conditions, primarily: the voltage and current to be handled; whether it is AC or DC; and whether the circuit is predominantly resistive, inductive or capacitive in nature. The final circuit condition that greatly affects interconnect/disconnect design is whether AC or DC is being switched.
