USDA and DOE award $47M in RD grants for biofuel, bioenergy and biobased product projects

The US Departments of Agriculture and Energy (USDA and DOE) are awarding a total of $47 million to fund eight research and development projects that will support the production of biofuels, bioenergy and high-value biobased products from a variety of biomass sources. Each award was made through a competitive selection process.

Envergent Technologies designing RTP plant to convert palm biomass to renewable fuels in Malaysia

has selected Envergent Technologies LLC, a Honeywell company, to perform the engineering design for a project that will use Envergent’s RTP Rapid Thermal Processing technology ( earlier post ) to convert palm biomass to renewable heat and electricity. The RTP liquid fuels will be used to generate renewable electricity and heat.

Berkeley Lab leading investigation to quantify and characterize Salton Sea’s geothermal lithium resources
