The program includes the installation of 10 alternative fuel refueling sites (two B20, one Electric Recharging, and seven CNG). The project will convert local landfill gas (LFG), a renewable fuel source, to compressed natural gas and develop five CNG fueling stations throughout the metro-Atlanta area. Total DOE award: $15,000,000.

The project includes quick-charging stations at this terminal layover in route to recharge bus batteries. Grid sourced electrical energy used to recharge the bus batteries will be augmented with solar energy collected with panels procured and installed under this project. They convert Toyota Prius hybrids into mostly electric vehicles that get 100 to 150 miles per gallon. The conversion can double or even triple fuel economy, thereby severely limiting carbon dioxide emissions. .
