Connect Environment Stimulus Tax

We’ve got big solar coming and big wind too, but those projects are not built yet and neither are the transmission lines to connect them to the grid. Seems like a perfect use for some stimulus money, don’t it? We cannot afford to wait for them and we don’t have to. I’m ready to start right now.

The treasure chest was cleverly disguised in the form of Federal stimulus money from the ARRA, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. But snatching victory from the jaws of defeat – like a last second Derek Fisher three pointer at the buzzer – as I discovered from Brian Gitt, is the infusion of ARRA stimulus money.

While government data suggests the retail price of electricity is somewhere around 10 cents per KWH, the addition of taxes and fees puts the price somewhere aorund 16 cents per KWH on my electric bill. Elon Musk is going to get about $5 of my hard earned money based on my fair share of taxes. The price goes up with demand and usage.

The dots that other folks were failing to even see, already looked pre-connected to me - like those incredibly real artificial Christmas trees with the lights already set in place and ready to plug-in. And the sponsors we’re working with, like Environment California, have done a lot of studies about that. And the county of L.A.

And I felt a kindred connection with him after reading about his experiences putting solar PV on his roof. Also Tax Collector, Auditor & Controller. He’s also the County Tax Collector and the County Controller and the County Auditor. I knew he was effective working with cities on energy and sustainability projects.
