Jaguar will develop the micro-turbine hybrid C-X75 concept car ( earlier post ) as a limited production supercar (maximum of 250), priced at between £700,000 - £900,000 (US$1.15 - $1.48 The road-going supercar will use a downsized, highly-boosted gasoline engine with one electric motor at each axle.

MAHLE has selected EVO Electric Ltd., a developer of electric drive solutions for the automotive sector ( earlier post ), as a partner for the development of its range extender engine for electric-drive vehicles. The investment will be made in sixteen proof of concept studies, which will last up to one year, and six longer-running full research and development projects. Projects to be funded include: Ultra Lightweight Gas Turbine Range Extender for Electric Vehicles. Led by Bladon Jets, this consortium includes SR Drives and Jaguar Land Rover.

Jaguar Classic has confirmed it will offer all-electric E-types for sale. The news follows the iconic EV sports car’s successful debut in concept form at Jaguar Land Rover Tech Fest in September 2017. Deliveries of the first electric E-type vehicles are expected to start from summer 2020.
