The Swiss company Climeworks is building the world’s largest direct air capture (DAC) and storage facility for converting atmospheric CO 2 to rock in Iceland. The particularly high geothermal energy means that the Earth’s heat can be converted to electricity cost-effectively and virtually CO 2 neutrally.

MAN Diesel & Turbo Schweiz AG has signed a cooperation agreement with ABB Switzerland for the development, production and commercialization of a three-way energy-storage system. The heat and cold can be converted back into electrical energy on demand. The CO 2 passes through the heat exchanger.
