Another day, another announcement of a hot new green car model headed to the Frankfurt Motor Show. The diesel engines - a 90bhp and a 110bhp - are fitted with a diesel particulate filter, while the three petrol engines - Vti 95, VTi 120 and THP 150 - boast either five or six speed manual gearboxes.

In comes a new BMW co-developed 1.6i 16V THP 155hp petrol engine that replaces the out-going 2.0i The saloon version of the Citroen C5 starts at £18,195 on the road.

As we edge closer to the eagerly anticipated launched of the Citroen C3 supermini at the Frankfurt Motor Show, more details have emerged about the best-seller. Indeed the HDi DPFS 90 diesel version, which will be available from launch, will be the first full production Citroen to emit less than 100g/km of CO2 with emission levels of 99g/km.

French carmaker Citroen has lifted the lid on its latest generation supermini the C3 and in a first for the manufacturer the car will be available in a variant which produces less than 100g/km of CO2. Tags: Citroen C3. The company is hoping to launch two diesel versions which emit 90g/km and 95g/km of CO2.

Citroen’s new family of turbo-boosted petrol engines have helped the cut greenhouse gas emissions by roughly 25 per cent. Each of the new PureTech engines offers equivalent or superior power compared to the previous generation of engines, despite offering significant improvements in fuel economy and reduced CO2 emissions.
