That said, if that’s your typical daily commute, it’s easy to see how plugging in overnight would give you all the juice you need. The Taycan RWD shares the other Taycans’ 800-volt electric drive system for ultra rapid recharging, but sadly there’s no 350kW charger anywhere near to my home. More good news today.

It appears that few people, especially those in the mainstream media, understand the basic physics underlying fast charging, so I though it would be a good idea to review this and its implications for electric vehicle infrastructure. If we wanted to recharge this from 110V domestic service we would need to pull 10,800,000/110 = 96,000 amps.

Chrysler alone, for instance, may have 3 different battery pack shapes in its upcoming models. Please feel free to tell us what you believe to be the benefits of some of the various recharging modes mentioned above in the comments section below. I would prefer to recharge at home, and could do so.
