Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) and the Chinese government-affiliated China Automotive Technology and Research Center (CATARC) have agreed agreement to conduct joint verification tests of the Prius Plug-in Hybrid"in Tianjin. Greater use of it is in lockstep with China’s electrification policy.

The Prius Prime becomes Toyota’s leader with a plug. Toyota’s Prius Prime and RAV4 Prime plug-in hybrids are distinguished from the standard Prius and RAV4 and seem to have found a sales niche. The Swedes (with some Chinese help) are bringing more EVs. Stellantis (Jeep/Fiat/Chrysler) – Slow, But Picking Up Steam.
