The EPA has certified the 2013 Ford Taurus with the new 2.0-liter liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine at 32 mpg (7.35 liter EcoBoost helps Taurus deliver a 26 mpg (9.05 L/100km) combined EPA rating. All three engine options for the 2013 model have now been certified at 25 mpg (9.41 L/100km) highway.

At the Chicago Auto Show, Hyundai introduced its new 2020 Sonata Hybrid, featuring up to 686 miles of driving range and an EPA-estimated 52 mpg combined fuel economy rating on the Blue trim. This is the first time the Sonata Hybrid has been shown in North America. The Sonata Hybrid is equipped with a Smartstream G2.0

Taxi Medallion Management in Chicago has purchased 12 Ford Transit Connect Taxis running on compressed natural gas (CNG) for its fleet. The cabs will be affiliated with Yellow Cab Chicago and bear the company’s logo and color. The Ford dealership, Packey Webb Ford, of Downers Grove, Ill., The taxis have a 39-foot turning radius.

I never thought I’d see the Chicago Cubs win the World Series. I get it – sound deadening equals fuel-economy killing weight. Fuel economy is listed at 52 mpg across the board for city/highway/combined. mpg -- and the computer wasn't reset when I picked up the car. And there are worse offenders out there.
