Enterprise Rent-A-Car will be the first to offer Chevrolet Volt extended-range electric vehicles (EVs) for daily and weekly rentals later this month. There are more than 5,000 Enterprise Rent-A-Car neighborhood and airport offices, including the Mark Christopher Auto Center site, located within 15 miles of 90% of the US population.

Enterprise Rent-A-Car now offers customers the Nissan LEAF electric vehicle (EV) for daily and weekly rental at its 1702 Santa Monica Blvd. Enterprise recently announced plans to add 500 Nissan LEAF EVs at select locations throughout its neighborhood network and through its WeCar car-sharing program throughout this year.

I was at the end of a 3-year lease and a 6-month extension on my 2018 Chevrolet Volt Plug-in Hybrid. The Tesla adapter is a must in my neighborhood. While Chevrolet’s support for the car may diminish over the years, there’s a lively group of enthusiasts online more than willing to support each other.

I think that’s fair since on a good day my 3 ½-year-old Chevrolet Volt has a 61-mile all-electric range, roughly comparable to a used Nissan Leaf or Fiat 500e. Chevrolet Bolt EV – 12,313. Nissan Leaf EV – 4,192. Nissan and Ford are expected to follow shortly. Tesla Model Y EV – 61,022. Tesla Model S EV – 6,532.
