The new Mitsubishi Triton is joining the petrol-electric plug-in hybrid rush alongside the 2024 BYD ute and 2025 Ford Ranger PHEV. Consumer preference for ICE vehicles or hybrid/PHEVs appears to be another. The Escalade isn't my cup of tea but it remains a strong entrant in the large luxury SUV segment -- and you can even give it the V treatment. The materials above the beltline looked and felt price appropriate -- but the ones below the beltline felt cheap.

In other words, if for some reason the idea of a PHEV Wrangler bothers you, relax. So while other SUVs might get dinged for these things, we chalk it up to part of the experience. Speaking of warning, we can’t say we didn’t warn you that this Jeep doesn’t come cheap. Yes, you get a plug-in hybrid setup. They’re supposed to be.
