Mitsubishi does plug-in hybrids (like in the Outlander ), Toyota does conventional hybrids (like the RAV4 ), and Nissan does e-Power. And that means it’s not cheap. You can get into a Toyota RAV4 Hybrid for $40,550, but Nissan does say it will look to expand the tech across cheaper trim levels in the future.

Its body length (4855mm) is similar to a Toyota Camry’s, while the long wheelbase of 2950mm, while 50mm shorter than an Ioniq 5, offers excellent cabin space. They’re a big improvement on the Ioniq 5’s slightly cheap looking and feeling doors. Unlock the car and you’re greeted by a light show at the back.

While the EV9 Air will be the entry-level model it will come with plenty of kit. Its exterior dimensions sit between a Toyota LandCruiser and Nissan Patrol.
