Although Tesla gets the headlines (and stock price boost), Nissan and Chevrolet make the sales. Plug-in vehicle sales are indeed increasing, with the LEAF and Volt each selling about 2500 units in June 2013. Even with Level 1 charging at work, these become 100+ mile cars. Where should continuing government support be directed?

Coulomb Technologies unveiled San Francisco's first ChargePoint America charge stations yesterday in a Priority Parking lot along the Embarcadero. The charge stations and installations were paid for with federal stimulus and California Energy Commission grants won by Coulomb. Nissan LEAF buyers are excluded. But for whom?

I crawled into a Taco Time and asked if I could plug in. After that, I walked a block away and found an auto parts place that was kind enough to let me plug in. After the car sat for 20 minutes, I had enough juice to get to the auto parts place. After plugging in, my friend Ruth picked me up and dropped me off at home.
