Cummins and Peterbilt to team up on SuperTruck II

Cummins will partner with Peterbilt Motors Company, a division of PACCAR to develop and demonstrate technologies under the US Department of Energy (DOE) SuperTruck II program. Cummins and Peterbilt teamed together for SuperTruck I, first demonstrating more than 50% BTE and analytically defining technologies needed to achieve 55% BTE.

Green Energy Oilfield Services building fleet with 60 Peterbilt LNG trucks

Kenworth and Peterbilt to add heavy-duty Cummins Westport ISX12 G to line of natural gas engines

Kenworth Truck Company and Peterbilt Motor Company will expanding their alternative fuel line-up by offering the Cummins Westport ISX12 G heavy duty natural gas engine ( earlier post ) for use in regional haul, vocational and refuse markets. In-use emissions report for Achates heavy-duty OP diesel shows substantial margin to most stringent EPA NOx proposed regulation

Achates Power has released initial in-use NO x measurements from the cleaner, heavy-duty diesel engine it developed in a project funded by the California Air Resources Board (CARB) and several partners. Achates Power previously announced the opposed-piston has entered fleet service with WALMART Corporation in a Peterbilt 579 tractor.

Honda debuts hydrogen-powered Class 8 fuel cell Semi truck concept

And now it’s showing a full-on Class 8 semi truck concept, the heaviest vehicle on the road, powered by hydrogen. Honda doesn’t build actual trucks, it’s just looking to supply the fuel cell systems to be used on a truck made by a large truck manufacturer. We’ll have to wait and see, but it’s going to take a lot of work.

First ever electric semi truck rides into Mexico with SDG&E

Bali Express purchased 11 Peterbilt 579EV Class 8 trucks in September; by Bali Express. The SDG&E-powered chargers were partially funded through a $200,000 grant from the California Energy Commission’s Clean Transportation Program. The Peterbilt 579EV trucks have an 82,000 lb.
