The program runs from 2 March to 30 April 2021, while supplies last. These customers are allocated a portion of the energy output from their community solar projects and earn credits on their power bills as the projects generate power and add renewable energy to their local grid.

Debates over the feasibility and value of such vehicle-to-grid technology go back decades. This is good for the grid.

Commercializing renewable hydrogen in China is anticipated to not only help green industries, but in combination with hydrogen refueling stations, it will also help alleviate hydrogen supply bottlenecks to accelerate fuel cell vehicle adoption. To date, the company has deployed more than 2,000 fuel cells and 600 electrolyzers globally.

GE Energy’s Industrial Solutions will supply and deploy the infrastructure products needed to make the projects possible, in particular charging stations and installer network. The agreement would see GE Capital lease EV vehicles across Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Sweden, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland and the UK.

At the Clean Energy Ministerial in Washington, DC, 19-20 July, ministers reaffirmed their commitment to previously-announced targets for the deployment of electric vehicles, which the International Energy Agency (IEA) estimates will create global market momentum leading to at least 20 million electric vehicles on the road worldwide by 2020.
