In 2023, battery-electric transit buses made up 100% of purchases in Luxembourg, Ireland and Denmark, and 98% in the Netherlands. In Germany, Austria and Belgium, by contrast, diesel buses still made up 75% of new bus sales. The Ford E-Transit is the leading zero-emission model.

Ford of Europe has put two giant wind turbines, each with a height of 150 meters, into service at the Ford Genk plant in Belgium. Genk is not the only Ford of Europe plant to use electricity generated by wind turbines. Ford’s Dunton Technical Centre (UK) is also powered by electricity from renewable sources.
