has introduced the battery-electric 2013 Honda Fit EV ( earlier post ) into the Zipcar Portland fleet, with the first vehicles located at Portland State University (PSU). The Honda Fit EV features a 20 kWh Li-ion battery and a compact 92 kW AC synchronous electric motor that generates 256 N·m (189 lb-ft) of torque.

The systems will autonomously charge part of the electric yard tractor fleet of SSA Marine at the International Container Terminal at the Port of Oakland. An additional 41 sites on other highways that connect to I-5 are being proposed for electrification. Fleet operators surveyed as part of the study identified that access to public charging would accelerate deployment of electric vehicles because their trucks could use public sites to support their operations.
