Amminex has developed an Ammonia Storage and Delivery System (ASDS) which has demonstrated its efficiency to almost completely eliminate nitrogen oxide (NO x ) pollutants from diesel engines. Due to the reduced effort in reaching the engine emission compliance, ASDS could also be used to significantly optimize the fuel consumption.

Black carbon, a product of burning fossil fuels or biomass such as wood or dung, can worsen a number of respiratory and cardiovascular diseases. The team considered about 400 emission control measures to reduce these pollutants by using current technology and experience. Their paper is published in the journal Science.

The report’s findings for the period 1997–2007 present a mixed picture, with some improvements in air pollutants and serious concerns regarding persistent growth in transport’s greenhouse gas emissions.
