It seems like a great idea in theory - the US Government is backing up its calls for the public to move to green cars by buying some of its own. However, the practise of the Government Services Administration’s (GSA) orders for 14,105 fuel efficient vehicles has come in for criticism. Leave a comment with your thoughts.

Though 12 miles is well short of the 40 plus miles of the upcoming Chevy Volt, the costs associated with the hybrid system should also fall well short of the Volts costly power train. The new Toyota Mirai hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle ( earlier post ) will offer an EPA-estimated 67 miles per gallon equivalent (mpge) city/highway/combined when it hits dealerships in California this fall, and an EPA-estimated driving range rating of 312 miles (502 km) on a single fill of hydrogen.
