I remember the vitriol spewed towards the newest Acura Integra when the wraps came off. Yet it all melted away when I finally had the chance to pilot a 2023 Acura Integra A-Spec. Were I shopping in this class, I’d probably fork over the extra 10 G’s for the Acura, and not just because of the luxury dealer experience.

Honda built its original reputation around affordable small cars like its Civic. As Honda’s global CEO alluded this past week in a Q&A with Green Car Reports and various automotive and tech media at CES, it doesn’t see how the parallel pencils out quite yet. Aoyama underscored that Acura is being handled differently, though.

Based on GM’s Ultium tech, the Prologue will launch in 2024 to sit above the CR-V and alongside the North America-only Passport ICE SUVs in the line-up. But little of the tech story was revealed. The Prologue will be twinned in North America with a model from its Acura prestige brand called the ZDX that also launches in 2024.

Which affordable EV regained its EV tax credit eligibility this week? The Honda Prologue and Acura ZDX, both based on GM’s Ultium battery and propulsion platform and assembled by GM, will both qualify for the full $7,500 EV tax credit , the brands confirmed this week.
