The proposed regulations cover passenger cars sold in China from 2016 to 2020, and project an overall fleet-average fuel consumption of 5L/100km (47 mpg US) for new passenger cars in 2020, as measured over the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC), from an expected fleet average of 6.9L/100km 100km (34 mpg US) in 2015.

The V70 plug-in hybrid demonstrator highlights Volvo’s current PHEV architecture: front-wheel drive combustion engine, electric motor on the rear axle. The V70 diesel PHEV is projected to support up to a 50 km (31 mile) all-electric range—sufficient to cover the daily transport needs of 75% of European drivers.

I was at the end of a 3-year lease and a 6-month extension on my 2018 Chevrolet Volt Plug-in Hybrid. After 3 ½ years my mpg is well north of 200 mpg (the measurement tops out at 250 mpg, which is my goal). Road Test: 2017 Chevrolet Volt.
