Overall, the study found that maritime fuel consumption increased from 291 to 298 million tonnes (+2.4%) from 2013 to 2015, compared to a 7% increase in shipping transport work. During his campaign, President Obama said he would work to put one million plug-in hybrids on American roads by 2015. It is also flex so that future biomass fuels such as cellulosic ethanol, methanol can be used (no oil). Those cars will reduce oil demand at most by about 1/5th of one percent. — Volt Enthusiast 7.
