Coulomb’s project includes the deployment of electric vehicles, including 2,000 GM Volt, 200 Ford Transit Connect, 100 Ford Focus EV, and 100 Smart EV vehicles, as well as establishing 4,600 EV charging locations nationwide. Additionally, DOE’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) is joining with Google Inc.

By cutting red tape and avoiding costs for construction and electrical work, combined with free solar energy, Beam Global says its EV ARC systems can offer customers a lower total cost of ownership compared to grid-tied charging stations. This may well be the case with the EV ARC, a solar-powered off-grid charging station made by Beam Global.

Similar tactics that leveraged physical and mobile autonomous things could extend the blast radius beyond IT infrastructure to destroy physical infrastructure like factories, pipelines, electric grids, or worse. Autonomous systems are already demonstrating tremendous value today, and we are just scratching the surface.
