Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), USA, Inc., intends to conduct a voluntary safety recall of potentially 17,000 2010 model year Lexus HS 250h hybrid vehicles to address a compliance issue with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 301.

The 2010 HS 250h, Lexus’ first dedicated hybrid and the fourth offering in its lineup ( earlier post ), will carry an MSRP for the standard version of $34,200, while the Premium model will carry an MSRP of $36,970. The HS 250h has the best combined EPA mpg rating of any luxury vehicle in the US.

Toyota Motor Sales, USA will conduct a voluntary safety recall involving approximately 87,000 model year 2010 Toyota Prius and Lexus HS 250h vehicles. The involved vehicles are equipped with a brake pressure accumulator that may develop a fatigue crack on an internal part due to vibration.

As part of what has become a global recall of the third-generation Prius, Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), USA Inc, will conduct a voluntary safety recall on approximately 133,000 2010 Model Year Prius vehicles and 14,500 Lexus Division 2010 HS 250h vehicles to update software in the vehicle’s anti-lock brake system (ABS).

The hybrid transaxle in the upcoming Lexus HS 250h hybrid sedan ( earlier post ) will use an electric transmission oil pump in place of a mechanical pump, further shifting ancillary loads from mechanical to electrical propulsion, according to Toyota. Jack Rosebro.

The Nikkei reported that Toyota Motor Corp. The automaker recently notified parts suppliers that it intends to roll out about 800,000 hybrids domestically in 2010, with the figure to be raised to around 900,000 in 2011 and roughly 1.1 million in 2012.

The Nikkei reports that Toyota Motor Corp. has received about 1,500 preorders for its Lexus HS hybrid car ( earlier post ) in Japan, roughly three times more than the firm’s monthly sales target. The 2010 Lexus HS 250h will be available in the US later this summer. of all RX models in June.
