Lexus is voluntarily recalling some of its now-discontinued HS 250h entry-level hybrid luxury sedans after it determined that incorrectly-adjusted components on the rear suspension arm could age prematurely and cause suspension failure.

Audi announced pricing for the 2010 A3 TDI, its second US clean diesel offering launched this year. Audi notes that the Lexus HS 250h offers similar combined fuel economy with hybrid technology (EPA estimated 35/34 mpg US city/highway) but not the highway mileage range.

The automaker recently notified parts suppliers that it intends to roll out about 800,000 hybrids domestically in 2010, with the figure to be raised to around 900,000 in 2011 and roughly 1.1 Toyota currently sells more than 10 hybrids, including dedicated models such as the Prius, Sai and Lexus HS 250h. million in 2012.

As expected, Toyota has announced a recall for its 2010 Toyota Prius and 2010 Lexus HS 250h models to update the anti-lock braking system (ABS) software. The new software improves the response time of the anti-lock system and alters its sensitivity to tire slippage.

The 2010 Lexus HS 250h will be available in the US later this summer. About 90% of orders for the Lexus RX, released in April, are for hybrid models, highlighting the surging popularity of such green vehicles. In the US, hybrid versions of the Lexus RX represented 7.2% of all RX models in June.
