The US Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Energy today released the 2010 Fuel Economy Guide, which gives consumers information about estimated fuel costs and mileage standards for model year 2010 vehicles. Each vehicle listing in the Fuel Economy Guide provides an estimated annual fuel cost.

The bio-based polyurethane foam will be one of the new features in the new Ford Explorer—which will also deliver fuel economy at least 25% better than the current model—which goes in to production later this year. The first engine in the EcoBoost line, a 3.5L, V6 engine ( earlier post ), is being applied in the 2010 Ford Taurus SHO and Flex and Lincoln MKS and MKT. TI-VCT varies the phase of the intake and exhaust cams independently for improved airflow through the engine, which delivers more torque while reducing average fuel consumption by up to 5%.
