However, climate models to date have mischaracterized the effects of soot in the atmosphere, according to Jacobson, director of Stanford’s Atmosphere/Energy Program. Soot could be further reduced by converting vehicles to run on renewable electric power. These three gases are all greenhouse gases, and ozone is a surface air pollutant.
