Toyota Motor Corporation and Subaru Corporation disclosed today that they have agreed jointly to develop a platform dedicated to battery electric vehicles (BEVs) for midsize and large passenger vehicles and jointly to develop a C-segment-class BEV SUV model for sale under each company’s own brand.

The BMW i8 plug-in hybrid ( earlier post ) was named the World Green Car at the World Car Awards in New York. The other two short-listed finalists in contention for the award were the Mercedes-Benz S 500 Plug-In Hybrid and the Volkswagen Golf GTE. The BMW i8 is the first plug-in hybrid vehicle manufactured by the BMW Group.

And as soon as the word got out that a used RAV4 EV had been returned and would be offered for sale, the calls of interest began to pile up. You'd be wrong.
