People might be bored reading about the Prius but a review on four Priuses (2004, 2005, two 2006s) that my family owns that ran a total of 913k km (570k miles) should be interesting, right? I have an 2004 Suzuki quadrunner (Z250 is anyone cares) It''s a rolling chassis only. My plan is to convert this ride into an EV. Should I look for a straight axle with chain conversion? I have the resources to create an adapter to convert the 13 spine either up or down to match a golf cart motor. Motor was lost long ago.

Conversions are mostly for the Prius, with a few for the Ford Escape/Mercury Mariner hybrid SUVs. At that point, we expect the aftermarket companies prices to have come down sufficiently so that their conversions will be attractive to owners of hundreds of thousands of hybrids already on the road. So far, most start as hybrids.

The catalytic converter that keeps the ICE from being a gross polluter in conventional cars and hybrids however, isn't kept warm by the continual embrace of an ever-churning engine in a hybrid with all-electric range. Third-party and DIY converters can't muck with every system on a car. Cold starts mean more pollution.
