On October 14, SAIC-GM-Wuling (SGMW) became the first vehicle manufacturer in China to sell 1 million units in the domestic market this year. The move comes on the heels of AvtoVAZ-Renault-Nissan becoming the fourth largest manufacturer of automobiles worldwide following several successful moves by Rostec. Together, the new automotive alliance set up a joint manufacturing process in AvtoVAZ''s home town of Togliatti, Samara Oblast, Russia, in 2012.

Vehicle kits will be supplied by GM China’s SAIC-GM-Wuling (SGMW) joint venture. It was established in 2002 and is based in Liuzhou, Guangxi. SGMW manufactures a range of Wuling brand mini-trucks and passenger vehicles as well as the Baojun 630 midsize sedan.
