In advance of the market introduction of the new 2010 Prius, Toyota Prius sales dropped 61.5% General Motors sold 1,534 hybrids in April, comprising: 523 units of the two-mode SUVs (Tahoe, Yukon, Escalade), representing 4.5% 95 units of the two-mode pickups (Silverado, Sierra), representing 0.27% of sales of those models.

Hybrid gains were largely due to an increase in Prius sales (up 29.7% Chevrolet truck sales increased 27%, led by increases by Silverado, Suburban, Avalanche, Colorado, HHR and Equinox. Light truck sales were led by the RAV4 compact SUV with best-ever July sales of 15,912 units, up 32.5% Monthly sales of hybrids.

The top-selling Silverado pickup posted 23,508 units, a decrease of 44.8%. year-on-year to 13,747 units in March 2009, with sales of the Prius down 56.8% to 27,195; sales of SUVs plunged 73.2% GM’s top-selling car was the Malibu, sales of which were down only 2.1% to 14,772, with retail sales of the Malibu up 7%. to 2,939 units.
