In Germany, Mercedes-Benz Cars has eight vehicle and powertrain plants (Bremen, Rastatt, Sindelfingen, Berlin, Hamburg, Kamenz, Kölleda, Stuttgart-Untertürkheim), which either purchase electricity or operate their own power plants. The production hall uses renewable energy and reduces water consumption and waste significantly.

The order has operational directives for building and fleet management, electricity generation, water use, waste management and purchasing. Through more efficient Federal operations, agency direct greenhouse gas emissions can be cut by at least 40% over the next decade, the order suggests.

Waste heat is used to generate electricity, making Enefit shale oil plants net producers of electricity. Eesti Energia’s subsidiary Enefit is developing two parallel oil shale projects in Jordan, where it acquired the exclusive right to develop, design, finance, construct and operate a 500 megawatt oil shale-fueled power station.

In this we limited the max price that retailers can charge consumers for power while forcing the very same energy retailers to purchase energy on the open market. That’s what we have now, energy retailers forced to sell gas at one price when it costs them twice that on the open market to purchase it. Smart Meters waste.

And, you have to recognize that they pull a hell of a lot of power through the local grid: there will come a time when we will see utility transformers popping from all the current being drawn (imagine just a few dozen EVs fast-charging simultaneously, on 480V at 500A: wow). Of course when on a trip the other options would be desirable.
