Unfortunately, you can’t drive an electric car, because there are almost no places to charge in public places. On Montana’s 147,000 square miles of land, the state’s latest count of charging points was just 57, most of which were concentrated in towns and cities rather than along highways.

A new study sponsored by Indiana University concludes that President Obama’s vision of one million plug-in electric vehicles (PEVs) on US roads by 2015 will require concentrated efforts action from all stakeholders— the auto industry, federal government, the scientific community, and consumers—to be realized.

The Focus is supposed to get 100 miles to a charge, but Frank is very worried about where people are going to plug in their cars. He also didn’t have a word to say about the coming smart grid or vehicle to grid connections. After my exhaustive investigation I now have the answers and they’re both simple and horrifying.
