XL recently completed a successful pilot deployment of school buses with Careful Bus Company in New York City outfitted with the XL hybrid system. The XLH system uses regenerative braking during deceleration and electric assist during acceleration to increase fuel economy.

Two AC motors combined with the 2-speed Mack Powershift transmission deliver a combined 536 peak hp, with 4,051 lb-ft of torque. The Ultra Service Agreement includes preventative and scheduled maintenance, towing and repair, a battery warranty and monitoring via Mack connected services in a single package that can include monthly payments.

The New York City Police Department has landed a Tesla Model 3 as its newest automotive fleet addition. The NYPD acquired the Dual Motor, Long Range All-Wheel-Drive variant of the Model 3 for its fleet. It was added to the NYPD’s fleet of highway patrol cars last month.

The National Renewable Energy Laboratory’s (NREL) Hydrogen Sensor Laboratory was used recently in a partnership with KPA Services, LLC (KPA), at the request of Toyota Motors to validate hydrogen sensors for incorporation into their system to adapt vehicle repair facilities for fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs).
