A new report from the Road Ecology Center at the University of California, Davis has found that total US vehicle miles traveled (VMT) at the county and state level have declined by 61% to 90% following the various government stay-at-home orders in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The ambitious program aims to ensure that EV drivers have access to fast charging along the most frequently-traveled routes, which stretch for 75,000 miles along the nation’s Alternative Fuel Corridors (AFCs). By contrast, California (7,082 miles), Florida (6,244 miles), and Texas (3,615 miles) operate the three largest EV corridor networks.

The MY14 B-Class Electric Vehicle will be available beginning in mid-July to dealers in California; Connecticut; Maine; Maryland; Massachusetts; New Jersey; New York; Oregon; Rhode Island; and Vermont. Range is an estimated 85 miles (137 km). 50-state availability will be announced in 2015.

The new three-year lease includes no down payment, unlimited mileage, routine maintenance, collision coverage and 240 volt EV home charging station equipment (not including installation) from Leviton. In the US, Honda has cut the lease price for the Fit EV in the US to $259 a month beginning 1 June, down from $389 a month.

They found that hybrid and alternative fuel vehicles (especially electric cars) easily saved their owners money when looking at the purchase price, fuel costs and regular maintenance.
