Just plug in your microwave, TV, coffee machine, laptop, fridge, e-scooter, e-bike or whatever, and the car sends electric juice their way.

Whether there is a business model to make this successful remains an open question. I'd like to see a ten year commitment to free charging, underwritten by participating automakers and government.

With two Electric cars, at the time a Nissan Lean and Mitsubishi Outlander, we use a considerable amount of electricity but not much petrol, so already we were a reasonable way down the less CO2 road. Then as the sun sets in the West, hopefully the battery pack would have enough juice to power the house for the rest of the evening. .

Were told that the agreement includes nods of acceptance from the likes of Volkswagen, BMW, Ford, General Motors, Fiat, Toyota, Mitsubishi, Eon, Vattenfall, EDF, Npower, Endesa and Enel, and while theres no time frame for when itll be introduced, were pretty stoked to hear that at least something has been decided upon. Is this the Zune HD?

This is a worthwhile and proven approach taken by so many Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV owners. The XC40 battery-electric version is available now in Australia and provides enough juice to travel up to 400kms. A 50kW DC charger boosts the battery from five to 80 per cent in around 1.5 Volvo XC40 Recharge.

I assume that we will need to triple the current Nexon battery capacity to compete with the ICE Mitsubishis and their ilk. It was a 10 course lunch and if my memory serves me right, this is what we had: Grape juice, Masala dosa, Wada, Bisellebela rice, Rasam rice, Sambar Rice, Curd Rice, Badam halwa, Sheera, Icecream with fruits and paan.
