With the $7,500 EV tax credit, the EV starts at under $40,000. 2024 Honda Prologue (Source: Honda) Electrek’s Take Japanese automakers, including Nissan, Honda, and Toyota, are falling behind in the EV market due to a slow shift from hybrids. The Prologue is based on GM’s Ultium platform, with up to 296 miles range.

They added an integrated electric motor to the 745’s 6-cylinder combustion engine a year ago, creating the 745e xDrive Plug-In Hybrid. The hybrid achieves 0 to 60mph in 4.9 Top speed is 130mph.

In a pre-response to that speech, having successfully advocated for plug-in hybrids like the forthcoming Chevy Volt, we propose that the President follow that speech up with a “realistic and conservative” roadmap to halve our oil use in 10 years. Right now, buyers of new plug-in cars get up to $7,500 in tax credits.

Federal Incentives for Electric Fleets There are a variety of federal tax credits and incentives for purchasing electric vehicles, as well as for expanding America’s charging network and EV infrastructure. After a company sells 200,000 qualified PEVs, the credit begins to phase out for all of its electric models.

As of 2021, BMW has all its segments covered with more than 10 plug-in hybrid models to choose from. Bayerische Motoren Werke AG has electrified its 7 th Generation 3 Series with the 2021 330e xDrive plug-in hybrid. Hybrids and PHEVs improve gas mileage overall. Tax credits are another great reason to drive a hybrid or PHEV.
