The Financial Times reports that Uber will invest $500 million into a global mapping project in an effort to decrease its dependence on Google Maps and to prepare for autonomous driving. The FT cited “ a person familiar with Uber’s plans ” as the source. This summer they hit the road in Mexico. —Brian McClendon.

2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6: Between a brief drive in New Mexico and a longer loan, I found myself enjoying this EV. It also has 40 miles of electric range and an updated Google-based infotainment system that is more responsive than before. I don't know how many more Mustangs like this we'll see, so savor it while it lasts.
