Why not just go online and buy a golf cart? Most are lead acid powered, but they are cheaper than the BYD units, and provide about as much safety in a frontal and side impact collision according to various golfers' institutes. for the BYD base model, the golf cart is prolly faster.

It's a pity that we have to remove this, but the size of the golf-cart batteries clearly interfere with the latch. Given this knowledge, I took a 12V UPS battery (12Ahr sealed-lead-acid) and tied the positive terminal to the positive terminal on the horn and the negative terminal to ground.
